Fall: Create

The Changing Leaves - Waxing colorful Leaves

The leaves outside our home are gorgeous: reds yellow, crimsons, greens, and every shade of brown.  Today we embarked on an Outdoor Hour Challenge from the blog Handbook of Nature

 Acorns - felting acorns

We are LOVING the cool weather of fall, and the lack of bugs!!  We've been collecting acorns from our front yard (simply because they are there) and Hadley and Finley have been finding nut shells on the rocks and driveways care of the squirrels, so when I came across this activity I just had to try it.

 Fall Craft Roundup

Our fingers have been busy here in the last few weeks with scissors and paper and fabric and felt, and our house is filled with hanging reminders of our hard work.  I've shared some of our favorite projects, but here is a roundup of some of the things we've been up to:

Leaf Print Flags

It's that time of year again, when the leave start to shift, change and begin their slow fall to the ground.  In anticipation of the fall colors, we made a painted leaf bunting for our home to celebrate the changing season. It was a perfect activity for 4 year olds, but even the 1 year old helped collect leaves and did a bit of her own painting.

Shine Lantern

It is that time of year when the cold nights and long hours of darkness again draw us more and more into our homes, to sit by our hearths and snuggle next to those big and little bodies we love.

A Little Turkey Love

This week we are full of thanks for the many wonderful things in our world, and while we share thanks around our table every evening, we are looking forward to celebrating our thanks on turkey day.

Waxing Leaves

Last year we waxed leaves and made these lovely garlands.  It was one of those activities you want to save and try again.
