We're back!

After many hours in the car, so many new beaches, lots of hikes, several waterfalls, plenty of (old and new) friends, a fabulous wedding, and our 5th anniversary, we are home.   So instead of doing laundry, or weeding  (wow -there's a lot of that to do), or going to the grocery store, I am sitting and smiling at all the many many pictures taken, and still floating just a bit on the vacation high.  For so long before we were married, Dave and I were transient, traveling and working for periods on sail-training tall ships, interspersed with driving around the country.  It felt so right to give our children a taste of that part of our lives.

I am a person who loves routine and rhythm in my life, but I also love those moments and days when you throw it all out the window and just go and be.  I was so thankful that with only minor cliches, Hadley, Finley and Freja welcomed our adventure and took pleasure in the beautiful places we visited.

Besides the goal of a wedding in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we also had the goal of going in all the 5 Great Lakes:

And with that said here are a few more photos from the hundreds we took this trip! (Oh and I got a new camera, maybe you can tell!!)
