Heart Garlands

So many of our projects lately have been open ended, usually involving lots of glue, cutting, and many bits and pieces.  There have been huge collages, cloud dough, painting with pudding and lots of projects I can't assign a name to, such as the 10 sheets of paper glued together yesterday by Fin.  Today we decided to make very simple heart garlands.  The little hands in our home were happy to have a sewing project.  I cut most of the hearts from fabric scraps, and let Hadley and Finley string the hearts on thread.  It was the perfect ability level for the twins and they are so proud of the garlands hanging in the windows.

Quite a lovely way to pass an hour.

  1. We made hanging hearts today too, a little different from yours. I love yours, and the fact it gets little hands sewing. We will be giving this a try in our home soon...maybe with some shamrocks :)

  2. I love this idea. Thank you for sharing it. This is something my five year old would just love as she is so into valentine's day right now. :)
