Thinking of Gardens

Tis the season for seed catalogs.  Everyday our mailbox seems stuffed full of them.  There must be a list out there of everyone who has ordered seeds, and once on this list, yikes, you get LOTS of catalogs.

This morning when my car battery died, my phone charger was missing and we were tripping over the piles from the various closets I've chosen to reorganize, I could feel my New Years goal of keeping it simple quickly slipping away.  Thank goodness for those seed catalogs!  The twins and I spent a good 2 hours, clipping, cutting, tearing, gluing, and sticking pictures from various catalogs (I won't mention which ones we kept and which ones we clipped :)  After the bustle of the holidays and all the gift giving, it was such a pleasure to sit down and make simply for the joy of making.  This winter in the dark and cold, our colorful paper gardens will be little reminders that soon the sun will swing north and the world will come alive again.
