This post has the potential (or likelihood) to fall under the boring category, if I wasn't so excited about it. We have a new laundry system in the house!
Did I mention that I dislike laundry? Somehow no matter how much laundry I do, the piles only grow. Between kids who love the dirt and paint, cloth diapers, and a new baby we seem to have an unending supply of 'dirties' in the laundry room. I seem to manage the loading of the washer, the hanging of the laundry and the air fluffing, but the sorting and folding and putting away was slowing me down. I was also looking for a way to involve the twins in the process and increase their responsibility in the home. So the sorting boxes were born.
After installing a new shelf in the laundry room, we found some boxes and decorated them for each member of the family. My new system is to simply toss the laundry into the correct box and allow the owner of the box to fold and stow their own clothes. As always, this is a system in the making!
