Yarn Along: Freja's dress

Today I'm joining the Yarn Along over at Small Things

I am slowly making progress on this little dress for Freja. I am feeling very accomplished despite the many blunders I've made, since I've never made anything this complex. The dress is 'Sadie's Dress' off the Etsy Store Trappings and Trinkets.  The yarn is Quince & Co "Tern" Yarn in Sea Grass.  I am envisioning this dress with a little cream colored shirt for the at the holidays, hopefully it will still fit by the time I finish.

I am really enjoying the 2nd book in Stieg Larsson's trilogy The Girl Who Played with Fire. The first book was more murder mystery style than I usually read, but I am hooked, and am going ahead with the next one.  I'm also reading bits and pieces of several parenting books at the moment, and am considering doing an in depth read on bee keeping next... getting excited about next years projects already!!

  1. What a sweet photo! Both knitted projects are really nice, I especially like the pattern in the green dress.

  2. The dress looks really pretty and I have to admire your little cardi too.

  3. What a beautiful color for a beautiful baby. How do you pronounce her name? "free yah"? My daughter's name is Anya (with a y, not a j).

  4. Beautiful! If my new little one turns out to be a girl she'll have to have a knitted dress I think.

  5. Ellen - the name is pronounced Fray-yah - we loved the way it looked with the traditional 'j'

  6. oh what a sweet photo, lovely knits, the dress is going to be so cute.
